'VURDALAKI'
THE CARPATHIANS AIN'T A SAFE PLACE FOR A PICNIC!
The movie is already showing in Russian cinemas
Another famous Russian writer, Alexei Tolstoy, lends his story as the plot of a movie in VURDALAKI! The horror is based on his novel The Ghoul Family which takes place in the Carpathian Mountains in the Spassky Monastery, where the confessor of Tzarina Elizabeth, monk Laurus, was exiled. Those lands were considered grim,  enveloped in legends about the evil forces that had remained there since the Turkish raids. Years later, the main character comes there - a young man named Andrei (Konstantin Kryukov), the godson of Elizabeth herself. In the Carpathians, Andrei is confronted with something supernatural and frightening, something that can not be explained. And he falls madly in love with the beautiful Milena, over whom a deadly danger looms. Now Andrew is forced to enter into battle with the evil itself, in order to save his love.
